The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
by Douglas Adams
I picked this up because I had heard about it, and the cover looked neat. I’m not really sure what’s going to happen, but I’m pretty sure the Earth is about to get blown up. The main character’s name is Arthur Dent. He seems like your average Joe. He’s also British. Arthur’s house is getting knocked down to make way for a bypass, so he’s been laying down in front of the bulldozer.
His friend, Ford Prefect, is an alien. He’s kind of a weirdo, but he’s alright? He’s been stuck on earth for 15 years but I’m not sure why yet. Ford has been posing as an eccentric actor and has been friends with Arthur for about 6 years. He’s a researcher for the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy, which is replacing the encyclopedia galactica as the new cool book to get knowledge. So far, it’s cool, I mean, I’m only on page 27 maybe? It seems pretty good!
