Okay so now I’ve managed to make a decent dent in the book and so far its going good, I think? So it starts off with this creepy monologue about how this character who refers to himself as just I. This character talks about how “They’re” coming and that it and the rest of humanity is on the edge of oblivion. Then it completely changes direction and gives us a new character called Mason.
For some reason, Mason’s mother is in critical condition in the hospital and it shows him freaking out and watching the news reporting all about the weird earthquakes (?).
It then switches to a new character named Aries. Her section starts out with riding a bus with two of her friends to school when a crazy person gets on, walking up and down the isle while warning people that “They,” are coming. It’s very similar to the weird chapter, but anyways so the earthquake happened and basically her entire town explodes. The bus rolls on its side and most are dead or hurt. She manages to get out but she was too late to save one of her friends and the other was too traumatized to help in evacuation of the bus.
Then it cuts to a girl named Clementine. Apparently her town was extremely affected by the earthquake and her town gathers in a fall-out shelter. Out of the blue, two boys, who the mayor seems to know, walk in with guns. Before Clementine can find out what they’re going to say, her mother tells to to sneak out and escape. The mother doesn’t say why, but it’s implied. She managed to slip out the back, only to find the church-fallout-shelter surrounded by dozens of men and women with guns, prepared to shoot. They spot her and a boy, who she seems to know from her high school, tries to take her to a truck to kill her. Somehow, he snaps out of it. He, Sam, tells her to run and that “They’re,” coming after everyone and that they are already in his head. He suddenly drops to his knees and it seems like he’s starting to loose control again. She takes his advice and runs, even still as she hears gunshots from the shelter in the background.
Lastly, it cuts to a boy named Michael, who is riding on a car with his friend. As he’s riding, they both spot two people arguing in the road. They get in their cars but as they ride away, The guy in the car runs the biker off the road, into the ditch, and kills him. A group of people gather and try to subdue the crazed murder, but it ends up taking 6 people and one sitting on him to stop him. Soon the cops show up, but they tell everyone to leave without questioning and Michael, his friend Joe, and a stranger that helped subdue the criminal, think its weird and strange. They part ways and try to leave as they were told but Michael’s car doesn’t start and they witness the cop shoot the Criminal in cold blood after they got him. The cop then tries to shoot them to get rid of witnesses, but the stranger that was with them earlier showed up and rescued them, took them home and told Micheal his hotel room number.
That’s where I stopped and I can tell that it is going to be an interesting book.
