If you’re interested in the events around the bronze age collapse, this is the latest “hot” book that everyone in that arena seems to be talking about. I read through it a couple of years ago, and while I don’t remember many specifics (I’ll probably have to read it again someday!), I remember it being not too bad, in the sense that it seems to straddle a line between purely “pop” history and hard scholarship. Check it out, if you like reading that sort of thing.
