We looked at the constellation Scorpius chasing poor Orion across the sky (So…Orion is killed by a scorpion sent by a jealous Apollo…then he is put in the sky as a constellation in memoriam, but he is still being pursued by a scorpion? That hardly seems fair…) and I mentioned that there’s a lot of astronomy apps out there that you can use to learn more about the sky and how it works. Here’s a short list:
Stellarium: This is the one we used in class—it’s free, and there are a few versions. It’s a little non-intuitive to set up, and to find some of the cooler features, so check YouTube for tutorials, find someone you like, and watch what they do!
